Nico birthday weekend @ langkawi

I was so glad that i had a chance to go back to Langkawi island. It was my third visit but first time for my boyfriend. We were pretty excited since its also Nico's birthday weekend. On saturday morning we start our activities with island hopping which involved a visit to 3 islands. Tasik Dayang Bunting aka Lake of Pregnant Maiden was the first one in the itinerary. As you can see from the picture, this lake looks like pregnant woman lying on her back. There's a myth saying that if a woman cant pregnant, they will if they drink the water from this lake. Is it true? No one knows :)

Our tour operator drop us at the jetty and we have to do 10 mins hiking on the stairs to get to the centre of the island. My boyfriend quite surprise to see not so many people take a swim but prefer to just sit around and chat. So i explain to him that most malaysian can't swim and thats the truth.

We stay here for an hour so everybody get a chance to swim, kayaking or just relaxing. It is nice if you came with a group of friend and everybody just jump into the water which is 10m deep.

(nice view from jetty)

Our next destination is Pulau Singa Besar. Here our boat stop for a while to see eagles. Yes, its eagle feeding place where they allure eagle to come close by feeding them.

Third and final island for our island hopping tour is Beras Basah island. Stunning view, crystal clear water and white sandy beach. . There's a lot of monkey in this island. so be careful with your bag. Don't take plastic bag with you since they know that you carrying food. They even will dig in your bag if you leave it open and unattended. This is the place where we try for the 1st time Nikon Coolpix AW100. It is Nico's birthday present from me

We end our island tour around 1pm and heading back to hotel for shower before going for lunch. We plan to have lunch at hole in the wall restaurant which is a floating restaurant in a mangrove. On the way to lunch, we stop at Gunung Raya for its view. Gunung raya is the highest point in Langkawi. Its a long way to get up there and i still remember that maybe we only saw 3 or 4 cars on the way up and down. We went to observation tower which is part of the hotel to see the view. To go up we have to pay RM10 each and its include a welcome drink. The view is stunning, peaceful and quite. Its feel like everything is stop down there and you looking at a postcard.

Next we go to hole in the wall floating restaurant. If you take mangrove tour they will take you to this restaurant for lunch. If not you can always go there by calling the restaurant. All you have to do is go to Kilim Jetty and check on the advertisement board for their number. They will send a boat to pick you up and send you back later for free. Since its a free ride, minimum spending in this restaurant is RM100. Hole in the wall serve malay cuisine and seafood. The food for me is average and i prefer to say that i pay for its view and surrounding. While waiting for your food to cook, you can go to the fish farm which is just next to the restaurant. They have giant grouper and string ray which have been kept for so many years.

We end our saturday at one of Tanjung Rhu public beach. The beach wasn't as nice as i remember back in 2008. There's rubbish everywhere and the water not blue anymore. I hope its not permanent and only happened because of rains. Besides that, sunset is stunning here and it still picture perfect place.

We woke up early on sunday since its our last day in Langkawi and we haven't go to cable car yet. We reach there around 10.30 in the morning, no hassle, no queue and not so much crowd. An hour later, its totally a different story. So try to be there early since they open at 9.30 to avoid long queue. Langkawi cable car offer equivalent view but fastest way to reach the top compare to gunung raya. If you scared of height like me this is one scary ride to the top. Their sky bridge was closed when we were there for monthly maintenance.

Not far from cable car, maybe 5min drive you can go to Telaga Tujuh waterfalls. Don't be scared with its icy cold water. Just go take a dip and you will feel good once your body adjust to the temperature. Its clear and cold water is very refreshing. You wont believe how much fish you can find here, make me feels like swimming in an aquarium.

My Top 10 Bali.

1. Gitgit Waterfall

- Its not easy to get to this waterfall. After 2 hours car ride we still need to do simple hiking up and down the hills for 700m. Since we already here, i really hope that this better be good or everything wasted. the 1st waterfall was nice with crystal clear water but swimming is not allowed.

So i tell myself that this doesn't look bad at all and pretty excited to see the 2nd one. So we walk up again and reach to the 2nd one which also amazing but only good enough for taking picture. Isnt that clear water tempting?

Since we didn't have anything much to do at 2nd waterfall we proceed to the third one which possible for us to swim. This is where the long journey actually start. It was almost another 500m to get there. So we walk and walk until i dunno either to continue or turn back.

Along the way to 3rd waterfall

When we reach there its not difficult to say that the water is cold, very cold. Maybe because its 10 in the morning or maybe the sun still shyly behind the cloud. My bf was so extremely excited to swim so i let him go and try it first. Its really hard to see him having all the fun so i decide to join him. The coldness immediately seep to your bone but once your body adjust to the temperature everything is perfect. Its so refreshing, rejuvenating and nothing better than undisturbed nature.

2. Pantai Putih, Padang Bai.

- We took a motorbike ride from kuta town to Padang Bai which approximately 1 hour ride. We stay at candi dasa for a night and since we on a bike we stop at few beaches along the way. We didnt stop at all the beaches since we plan to save some for our journey back. We only stay one night at candi dasa and doesnt have anything plan except checking the beach and snorkeling. Since its possible to just snorkel from our hotel we spend most our time there. We came to this brocure left in our hotel room and i saw advertisement about pasir Putih, a secret beach which not so much a secret anymore. So, the next day i told my bf that i want to go there no matter what. Curiosity win and my bf didnt have anything much to say. So we took our bike and start our journey. Its not far from candidasa, maybe around 10-15min ride. I think its a secret because you actually cannot see any signboard showing pasir putih. We already a bit ahead when we decide to stop and ask. We were right, turn back and really look closely on the sign. We were lucky to see that small sign in between tree and lamp post. We thought it couldnt be right since the sign show that we have to go through a small village and still see nothing up to a temple(or i think its temple). There we've been stop to pay for parking so we ask if this the right way to Pantai putih and they told us that we still need to go way down and down. So maybe you think if this beach really that good? Judge by yourself.

The white sandy beach and crystal clear water wont be complete without the present from this old man. When he 1st start playing music i really expect that he going to ask for money like the rest of balinese but to my surprised he didnt. He play a very nice music that blend well with the sounds of wave and sun. I feel so bad since we only tips him 10k at that time. So if any of you go there and you also feel touch from the beauty of everything please tips this old man more than i did. You can listen him playing from my youtube channel here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZwXwBtFBgc

3. Bersakih Temple
- This temple is the largest temple in Bali. Most bali temple architecture are the same. Bersakih are more like village instead of temple. The whole area consist of small temples for different type of prayer. Prepare yourself for step terraces and flight of stairs that lead you to one another. Go to the top of these temple and you will be stunned by breath taking view of bersakih.

4. Kintamani Volcano
- There's nothing else to say about kintamani volcano which is an active volcano except picture perfect. I've been to Kintamani twice and both time my driver will suggest to have lunch there so we can enjoy the view. There's a lot of restaurant on the cliff which provide great view of kintamani. Since we high on the mountain, temperature is usually around 15 degrees.

(Lake Batur)

(Kintamani Volcano, sunny after heavy rain)

(Kitamani Volcano on bright and sunny day)

(its sunny but cold temperature with Lake Batur in View)

5. Lake Bratan
- Lake Bratan is basically water temple located 1200m above sea level with cold temperature. The temple seems like to act more as a park instead of temple. Nothing much to do here, but the view is something not to be missed.

 (Park at Lake Bratan)

(Cloudy & cold temperature really give stunning effect)

6. Uluwatu Temple
7. Tanah Lot Temple
8. Batu Bolong Temple

Perhentian Island, Malaysia

We went to Perhentian island from 2nd to 4th March as for our March travelling plan. Even though i am malaysian, i never been to east Malaysia and perhentian island, so im pretty excited to go on this trip. Since we live in KL and we only have 3 days,we decided to take flight to Kota Bahru. Apart from Flight you also can take train and bus which have varies travelling hour. Flight from KL to Kota Bahru, kelantan took approximately 1hr.

For you information the best time to go to Perhentian Island is between April to October. The island were closed from November to January due to monsoon. When we were there on March the sea was rough, when i said rough its mean really rough. The boat ride from Kuala Besut jetty to perhentian island took approximately 40 minutes. Its one hell of a ride. If you not a fan of those scary ride at theme park i advice you not to go during early season. My hands bruises from holding to tight to the rail and i was pretty sure im going to die that afternoon.
Arrived at Perhentian island

We stay at Mohsin Chalet at the end of the beach. There's no transportation here so you have to walk. Our hotel located on the hill with stunning view. A very basic hotel which provided hot & cold water (thank god).  No tv,  and no electric power during day time.

View from chalet restaurant.

Strong Wind

View from our room

Perhentian Island obviously a very nice place. Nothing much to do here except snorkeling, diving and swimming. The water is crystal clear and even though its raining you still wont disappointed. From my experienced, boat man will still take you out snorkeling if its raining but not if the sea is rough. Beside this beach theres also another beach at the other side of the island. These side of island have more bigger waves and suitable for surfing while the other side more calm and good for swimming.

Great for swimming

See the different?

Rainy Day

Perfect Day

All in all, i will definitely going back to perhentian island and i just have to make sure to not going there during early season again. lol.

Stunning view

Lancome basic Routine - Republish

29th December 2010 ~ 04th January 2011

I will be 30 next May and my skin never stop worrying me. I have combination of dry and oily skin which make my T-Zone very oily. To top it up, i have visible pores on my cheek and nose. Theres already lines on my forehead and my smile line noticeable. My skin tones is uneven, black spot and scar is all over my face.

I really concern over acne and wrinkles at the moment. So for this 1st week am trying to have a week without make up routines and Lancome product try out.

I never use Lancome before since their product is obviously expensive but my age and review that i read online make me wanting to try. So i headed to nearest Lancome counter and purchased basic skin care routines. Foam, toner and moisturizer.

Mousse Radiance ~ RM 100
I really love this mousse type of facial foam. All i need is one small pump and its enough to cover the whole face. When i read online descriptions, it was stated that this mousse able to melt make up and the sales girl confirmed that this mousse act like make up remover which i find it hard to believe. I usually neglect cleansing my make up except eye shadow. When i try it last night and this morning, i really surprised on how good it is. On a wet face the mousse is easily lather and from one small pump is enough to cleanse everything. My skins feel fresh without feeling tighten.
Tonique Radiance ~ RM90
I'm not fancy over toner, BUT it is necessary to the routines. Unlike other product i use before, tonique radiance have light scent and didn't give burning sensations to my face. It also didn't make my face dry.

Premordiale Night Skin Recharge ~ RM290
Thanks to xmas promotion, i am able to get premordiale night skin recharge and 7 other samples for free. Not sure bout the price but will definitely get one when my sample runs out. It's give instant moisturizer to my skin and penetrate easily while massaging my face. I woke up this morning feeling so happy when acne on my chin and forehead starting to shrink and less obvious than the day before.

Primordiale Skin Recharge ~ RM275
This morning i go on make up free routines and only went out with Primordiale Skin Recharge. This day moisturizer cream contains SPF15. Eventhough i don't really care with sun damaged at the moment, its good to know that my skin protected. Skin feel moist but not oily. My skin usually gets oily 2 or 3 hours after morning routines and shine all over by afternoon. At the moment only my nose area seems to get oily and its 11am when i typing this blog.

I am tired with all this breakout and scars. Heard that night routines is more important compare to day routines. I am trying out slowly so i can see the improvement and knows which product work well for my skin type. I hope everything goes well and let see the result after one week.

RESULT :

After one week of application my skin totally renewed. I am so happy since no more breakout and black spot less visible. My skin feel smooths and fresh. I plan to continue this basic routine for another one week before trying my new face lotion and emulsion.

From Krabi With Cinte

It was supposed to be solo trip for me until im excitedly informed my girlfriend about the trip and they decided to join. Our hotel was booked on 29th march 2011 at Ananta Burin Resort, http://www.anantaburinresort.com/ . I was so excited that the rate is cheap since they entering low season and i didnt check the weather. Later in the evening, while watching news on tv, i've got to know that south thailand declare disaster because of raining and flooding. Koh Samui, Sukrathani and Narhatiwat are places badly effected. Im praying so hard by the time we there things already back to normal. We plan to be in Krabi from 30th - 3rd May 2011.

We travel by van from Penang and its took 8 hours to get to Krabi. We bought our ticket at five star bus agency at Sg Nibong bus terminal which cost RM55 for one way trip. Since operator in penang cannot arrange our return ticket we have been advise to get our return ticket in Hatyai. Two days been reserved only for travelling and another two days for sightseeing. Because of the limitation, we decided to make the best of it and choose to join tour. Tours been booked with patty from http://www.krabitours.com/. Hong Island tour on day one and jungle tour on day tour. Both tour are full day tours. All we have to do is simply email patty all the information and payment can be made on tour day itself. Pretty convenient and they are friendly.
