KIMI our little siamese kitten

I was walking back home from work when i heard a very loud cries right in front of saudi residence. After closer inspection, i saw a very tiny white color kitten looking scared, hungry and dirty screaming his lung out to the maximum. I wanted to bring it home in that instants but change my mind scared that Nico won't approved. When i get home i can't stop thinking about the little kitten and get so worried if no one save him. The idea of it being eaten by dog or die from cold if its raining that night make me wanna cry.

I immediately text Nico and tell him about it. I ask him if its ok if we keep him. At first he not really into the idea since we have housemates. But i told him we will keep it in the bathroom n just let it play in our room. I also promise that i will do all the cleaning and feeding. I told him to just check if the kitten still there on his way back. Maybe someone else already save him and its useless to argue. So i told him, if you found him and you have heart to leave him there and might die from being eaten or cold, i can understand and respect your decision. Its not that i really want a kitten, i am more a dog person and not cat. But its really broke my heart to imagine what will happen to him and i cant simply let him die.

While waiting for Nico to come back, i make myself busy preparing to the possibility that he wont bring  back the kitten. I was in the shower when he got home and tell me that he couldn't find it. Part of me relieved that someone else already save him but small part of me feel disappointed. Suddenly, I heard a faint sound of   a kitten and immediately jump out of shower, grab my towel and saw that little devil., still looking scared and tiny. I didn't stop thanking Nico and feel so happy that he have such a big heart. I told him that i wont bother to save the kitten if its already big enough and know how to survive. But he only around 2 months old when we found him. So we name him kimi cos i am a fan of kimi raikkonen :D

(3 days after we bring him home. How can anyone have heart to throw this tiny little kitten)
(we didn't see him playing anywhere and found him here. Kitten love warm place)
(We give him teddy bear to play and bite since we cant take his biting anymore)
(tired from playing and just dooze off)
(our attempt to make his life better)
 (Kimi and me)
(gosh we love him, already one month now with us)

Verona, Italy 2013

Our Initial plan was to go to Torino right after Briachon, spend half day there and proceed to Verona around  8pm. In Europe everything close after 8pm except bar & restaurant so this is how our road trip base on. Be on the road at night, sleep and spend the day sight seeing.
  (France-Italy Border)
  (France-Italy Border)
(Excited with both Verona & Venizia)

We arrived in Verona around 6pm which of course still bright and went directly to bed & breakfast place which is 10min drive from the city centre. The owner, Luciana (i remembered...lol) speak very little english but can manage to communicate with us in broken English and French. We love the room, it was clean, spacious and most important they have wifi. We decided to rest before dinner after 3 hours on the road from Briachon and immediately checking internet. Can't wait to update my status and telling everybody that i am in Italy, lol.
 (our room but no breakfast)
(less than 50 euro)

Since the night still early, we decided to go for dinner and check the night view of city center. Lucianna suggested one Pizzaria near to her place because she said it is expensive in the city and the food wasn't taste so good. We took her advice, went to Pizzaria 70 and of course we ate pizza and pasta :)

(I don't like Italian Biscotti as much as i don't like French Baguette)

The next day i woke up, grab my phone, see all the wishes on FB and immediately urge Nico to go sight seeing so i can claim my birthday gift ASAP. I couldn't think anything better than celebrating my birthday in Italy, in the city of Shakespeare and Romeo & Juliet. oh la la!!!

Our first stop was Torrei Dei Lamberti which at Piazza Ebre for a good view of Verona.

(Which one first?)
(Torrei Dei Lamberti aka Clock Tower @ Piazza Ebre)
(Night View)
(View from top-looking down at Piazza Ebre)
 (View from top)
(View from top)
(Piazza Ebre)
(street performance, not sure how they do that)

We almost didn't find Juliet house since there's no clear sign and renovation in front of the house make it more confusing. Juliet house situated not far from Piazza Ebre and when we get there the place was full with tourist and school children since its their spring break holiday. Its a long queue for girls and women to go to the famous balcony for picture and i didn't bother to be Juliet. Even Juliet bronze statue was packed with everybody who want to touch her breast for luck, we also didn't bother to do that one. huhuhu

(Right house to choose for Juliet)
(don't even can walk)

It was me who insist to go to Giardino Giusti, an Italian garden which is 20min walk from city center. I definitely love the garden but its the walking that i cannot do,lol. But when we get there, i was so in love with every inch of the garden, especially the sculpture. For me "less is more" garden and park concept is definitely Giardino Giusti. Put sculpture in any garden, i definitely will love it. We spend quite sometimes there, taking picture, having lunch and enjoying the nature before heading back to the city later. Few people come over to this garden and we really enjoying our time there. If you come to Verona you have to visit Giardino Giusti.

After garden we went to Teatro Romano, its a ruin and a museum which wasn't so impressive but the view of city center didn't failed to excited you.

We then headed back to city center since its already noon and i already tired from all the walking but we still have few places to see. We then stop at one church which i forgot which duomo already.

Verona Arena is a roman amphitheater which located next to piazza bra and hosting a lot of concert in Verona. We didn't get a chance to go in because by the time we decided to check this place the door already closed for visitor since they having concert that night. So we only manage to see the facade and do some shopping at piazza bra for local delicacies.

Scaliger bridge aka castelvecchio bridge was our last stop in verona. This bridge famous for its defense character and was built in 13th century by scaliger family who been hated by the villagers to escape. There's a legend saying that the  designer come riding a horse when they awarded him, afraid that the bridge will crumbled down. If he only knew that the bridge stood strong until the German come and destroyed it in 1945.

Grenoble & Briancon, France 2013

Its been a week since we came back from France and i've been busy ever since. But today, since i got nothing much to do except filing i decided to make myself busy here :)

It took us almost 5 hours from Brittany to Paris and another 6 hours from Paris to Grenoble. We decided to stay for one night in Paris and hangout with Nico friends. It was so cold in France this spring and it felt like winter to me. Its something common for everybody to speak about weather here in France or maybe everybody in Europe. Weather can be unpredictable, it can be sunny for 5min and immediately raining after that for another 5min before sunny again. So its not easy to plan something with this kind of weather.

We arrived in Grenoble around 9pm due to heavy traffic in Paris earlier in the afternoon when we suppose to be there at 8pm to meet my friend Marlies and her boyfriend. We are fortunate to meet each other again after 4 years since Marlies went there for rock climbing and we decided to stay for the night in Grenoble before proceed to Torino for our trip to Italy.

(I was more excited with Geneve sign..lol)
(Marlies & Steven, they are Dutch and i called them giant for being so tall :p)

After dinner we went directly to our bed & breakfast place after being delayed for an hour. The owner of the house seems upset that we arrived late but nothing we can do about it. Bed & breakfast have been our choice of stay for this trip. Its cheaper, easier way and nice to see how local live and decorate their place.
(mistress of the house aka fat cat)
(we had homemade bread, blueberry jam and honey for breakfast)

Since we are still in France and both Nico and the house owner are French, they speak a lot during breakfast and it was then house owner (which i didn't know what her name was) suggest to skip highway and go to Torino through Briancon. She said the view is nice and there was snow one week ago. After discuss with me, we agreed to go through Briancon for its view especially when we are on holiday and doesn't feel the need to rush to get to Torino.

The journey was longer but we didn't regret for choosing Briancon especially when we still can see snow in May. It was amazing, it wasn't cold except when its windy, one part already green and another still covered with snow. This is the first time i saw real snow on the mountain so you can imagine my excitement :)

(when we just started already excited seeing snow and immediately cam whore)
(nice view at dam)
 (windy...)
(tadaaaaa....my first snow which already melt and became ice :(
(its 1st May 2013 and there's still snow)
(Love the combination of green & white)
(Briancon also a place to ski)
 (melting snow became waterfall)
(Small town right at France & Italy border)
